Famous Filipino Painters / Artists: Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo y Padilla (born on 1855 and died on 1913) is acknowledged as one of the great Filipino painters of the late 19th century, and is significant in Philippine history for having been an acquaintance and inspiration for members of the Philippine reform movement which included Jose Rizal, Marcelo del Pilar, Mariano Ponce and Graciano Lopez Jaena, although he neither involved himself directly in that movement, nor later associate himself with the First Philippine Republic under Emilio Aguinaldo.
His winning the silver medal in the 1884 Madrid Exposition of Fine Arts, along with the gold win of fellow Filipino painter Juan Luna, prompted a celebration which was a major highlight in the memoirs of members of the Philippine reform movement, with Rizal toasting to the two painters' good health and citing their win as evidence that Filipinos and Spaniards were equals.
Hidalgo received a gold medal for his overall participation at the Universal Exposition in St Louis, Missouri in 1904. His El violinista was individually accorded a gold medal. In 1912, he visited his relatives in Manila for six months, after which he hurried back to Paris. His mother, who had not seen him for 30 years, wanted him to be with her in her last days, but he had to leave. The following year, Resurreccion Hidalgo died at Sarrea, near Barcelona, where he went to recuperate from failing health. His remains were brought to Manila, where it now lies entombed in the Hidalgo family mausoleum at the Cementerio del Norte.

Investing is very important. It helps sustain the development of the country's industries and economy. When an investment is made, it helps a company produce more. With more production, the economy grows. When an economy grows, there's mone money to go around - the very meaning of the word "prosperity". On the individual level, having money earn more than just interest definitely relieves a good chunk of the stress in your day-to-day life. There's comfort in knowing that you have a fallback plan, and that you're actively planning for your future. But we don't explore this, because investment is alien to us, that it's too risky, or it'll take up too much time, and that we need the money handy in case of emergencies.
So I put 10 percent of my salary into savings account, and hope that is enough. Nowadays it isn't. The burden of retirement is on us, not the government of the company that we've served long years toiling away for. Since we can't work three full-time jobs to ensure that our income will sustain us from cradle (our children) to grave (ours), the urge to incubate a nest egg becomes strong, even irresistible. But where does one start? With so many investment options out there - no, your CASA or checking and savings account does not count - it's intimidating just choosing which t study.

Antonio Margarito Montiel was born on March 18, 1978 in Torrance, California. He is a Mexican/American professional boxer. Margarito compiled a record of 18-3 in his relatively brief amateur career, indicating that he turned pro quickly because he needed the money. He's trained by former IBF Super Featherweight Champion Roberto García. Antonio also manages IBF Lightweight Champion Miguel Vazquez. Margarito did face Daniel Santos in a rematch on September 11 of the same year, at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, for Santos' WBO world Jr. Middleweight title. Margarito won in the 11th round via TKO. He was battered and outclassed by Mosley and lost the fight and his WBA title by 9th round TKO to Shane Mosley. Tiger Woods was leaving his home around 2:30 a.m. (EST) in his SUV, a 2009 Cadillac Escalade, when he collided with a fire hydrant and a tree down the street. The Florida Highway Patrol said that the crash was not alcohol-related, but continued to investigate. Tiger Woods was released from the hospital in good condition; his agent said that Woods was fine, and had been treated for facial lacerations. The airbags in his SUV did not deploy which suggested that he was not travelling above 33mph. On November 29, Woods issued a statement saying the car accident was his fault, but is a private matter. He praised his wife Elin for getting him out of the car. Details about what caused the accident were not revealed. Two days before the accident, The National Enquirer had published a story that alleged that Tiger Woods had had an affair with nightclub manager Rachel Uchitel, which she denied. Tiger Woods said, "the many false, unfounded, and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible".

A team of marine conservationist declared in 2006 that the Philippines is the Center of Marine Biodiversity in the world and Verde Island Passages as the "Center of the Center of Marine Shorefish Biodiversity".
Many threatened species which include sea turtles like hawksbills, olive ridleys, and green turtles; humphead wrasses, giant groupers and giant clams are present in the Verde Island Passage. However, there are no enforcement of ordinances and over-fishing is common. A short-lived 'park fee' scheme for the Verde Island drop-off dive site was soon dropped when it was discovered that the revenue was being used to buy better fishing gear and hence removing fish at a higher rate. Humphead wrasses are especially threatened and divers often go years without spotting a single individual. It was particularly noted the rare red fin wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubripinnis) thrives in Verde Island.

Coral health is generally good, though the effects of global warming and increased pollution, may still lead to drop in diversity. David Archuleta whose real name is David James Archuleta is now in the Philippines for his concert with David cook in SM Mall of Asia (MOA) open ground on May 16, 2009 Saturday (Manila times). David Archuleta is the runner-up of the American Idol seventh season.

The swine flu is likely a descendant of the infamous "Spanish flu" that caused a devastating pandemic in humans in 1918–1919. In less than a year, that pandemic killed more an estimated 50 million people worldwide. Descendants of this virus have persisted in pigs; they probably circulated in humans until the appearance of the Asian flu in 1957, and reemerged in 1977.
